MS SQL cloud servers – private cloud computing

Private cloud web hosting is better than public cloud for enterprise business who would like to have their own virtual data center. A company owns complete control of it’s infrastructure and provides more flexibility and scalability.

SQL server clusters are setup to increase availability, but they are not designed to increase scalability. But, you can create partitioned databases for different databases. But you cannot simply add a server to a cluster, but you have to careful and re-design the structure of the databases to make sure each applications connect to the right database on a SQL server cluster.

Database don’t move between servers and there are limitations as of now. In a private cloud server, you can setup databases as required and take advantage of private cloud. You can dynamically automate management. Technologies like live migration with VMM 2012 allows you to move VMs dynamically between host and to change CPU and memory.

With live migration and VMM 2012 you can meet the SLAs without any manual intervention and everythin remains automated.

With System center 2012, you can also automate the management to create runbooks to re-configure VMs to hot-add CPU or RAM. New hardwares such as HP database consolidation appliance creates a private cloud for all databases.

You can deploy many multiple applications with a private cloud computing servers. The service is a collection of VMs and other resources for a common task.
